RONAN KEATING
ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF HIS NEW SOLO ALBUM FOR FEBRUARY 12th 2016

Newly signed to Decca Records, Ronan Keating announces the upcoming release of his new studio album, on February 12th 2016. Having already sold over 20 million records worldwide as a solo artist, alongside the 25 million records he sold with Boyzone, Ronan now embarks upon the next chapter of his glittering career.  This is the album eagerly awaited by his fans – who have grown up with him over the past 20 years.

His 10th studio album finds Ronan more worldly wise, with a bevy of self-penned, heartfelt and revealing songs. An album that’s equal parts biographical and raw, Ronan has recorded a selection of tracks that were inspired by the new found happiness in his life.

This new album sees Ronan back with his first love – music.  Coming after a break during which he starred in the West End, appeared as a judge on Australian X-Factor and found happiness with his new wife, Storm. Still only 38, Ronan has been making music for over 22 years.

In recent years Ronan has been taking on more acting roles and made his West End debut in Once earlier this year to great critical acclaim.  Most recently Ronan has been cast in World War II drama, Another Mother’s Son, alongside John Hannah, Jenny Seagrove and Amanda Abbington.  X Factor Australia has also taken up his time – Ronan had five great years as a judge on the show mentoring two winners including 15 year old Marlisa Punzalan who was the victor in 2014.

More details on Ronan’s latest record are still to emerge, but in pictures taken from the London recording sessions for the album, Ronan still has the poster boy good looks that saw his face on bedroom walls across the country when Boyzone first shot to international success 21 years ago.

Of his new record Ronan had to say:

“I’ve spent the majority of my life and career pleasing everyone else, doing what people expected of me and in a sense I lost the confidence just to simply be me. Over the last few years I have been on an incredible journey and it’s the best thing that could have happened to me, as now I’m finally comfortable in my own skin and truly happy. This album is a true reflection of who I am and the music I want to make. It’s taken a year to write but in that time I have given the most honest piece of me. “

Ronan Keating dévoile le clip de « Let me love you »
By Vincent KHENG -  15 janvier 2016 3 193

Ronan Keating making 'pop folk' solo album

Ronan Keating is working on a new solo album which he hopes will show people another side to him as he tries to make ''pop folk'' music like Damien Rice and John Mayer.

The 38-year-old singer has revealed he's currently writing his 10th studio album and has compared his new sound to artists such as Damien Rice and John Mayer.

Speaking about the record, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''(It sounds like) Glen Hansard and Damien Rice and Ray LaMontagne, John Mayer. It's got a more organic kind of pop folk feel, singer/songwriter-y feel to the songs.''

The Boyzone star - who recently revealed he will marry his fiancee Storm Uechtritz later this summer - has been working on the forthcoming collection with singer/songwriter Greg Alexander, with whom he wrote his hit single 'Life is a Rollercoaster', but insisted fans shouldn't expect ''that sort of stuff'' to feature on the LP.

He said: ''I just got back from New York where I was with Greg Alexander, who wrote 'Life is a Rollercoaster'. The songs don't have that feel, I know when I say Greg Alexander people will say, 'Oh! 'Rollercoaster'!' but there's nothing like that on the album. It won't have that sort of stuff.''

Instead, the father-of-three - who is hosting the breakfast show on Magic FM all week - said the record will have a ''pop folk feel'', as he was inspired by the genre while appearing in the West End musical, 'Once', earlier this year.

He explained: ''I mean, I was working on the show 'Once' over the winter and that very much influenced me as a guitar player and as a songwriter, so there's a much more kind of pop folk feel to these songs.''
